MBFWA Runway Report: by johnny

Now in his fourth year at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, Johnny Schembri’s confidence is shining through in both his shows and his collections. Today’s by johnny runway show was a moody, grown-up affair – a grungy, industrial set formed the backdrop for the S16 collection, which predominantly consisted of monochromatic dresses with pops of colour and perfectly placed prints.

Silhouettes were ladylike with a modern twist – full-skirted dresses were offset by seatbelt-like shoulder details, while fitted knee-length dresses featured wet metal prints. Interesting fabrics featured too, with a sheer black gauze-like fabric appearing in jackets, tops and skirts.

The S16 by johnny collection will be your go-to for statement pieces for almost any occasion the warmer weather throws at you. In fact, selected pieces are available to buy online and in-store at Myer Melbourne and Myer Sydney right now! Click here to shop the capsule collection and be the first to own one of by johnny’s S16 pieces.
