It’s day three of MBFWA and it seems that there is no limit to the talent of our incredible Australian designers. Kate Sylvester is certainly no exception and took our collective breath away with today’s beautiful show at Carriageworks.
When recently interviewing Kate for Myer she described how the inspiration behind this collection is Baz Luhrman’s iconic take on Romeo and Juliet. The love story that has always captivated us was translated effortlessly through pieces that brought Kate’s imagination to life and added a new modern edge to our favourite tragedy.
Romeo came through via flawless structured pieces with cool factor, while I interpreted beautiful floral print dresses and soft silhouettes as the Juliets of this collection. Presented with impeccable styling, this Kate Sylvester show was the perfect combination of ladylike and fierce and had all the modern day Juliets watching wanting more.
This gorgeous Christopher Kane dress mixed with these very fun CUE flares was the perfect outfit for another big day of shows and appointments at MBFWA, I can’t wait share more with you, stay tuned…
