Staff Style: Winter Warmers

The crisp cool air of autumn has well and truly arrived and we’re looking into our winter wardrobes to see what needs an update. To get some inspiration, we asked some of our team members to tell us what they’re going to be wearing to keep warm this season – from snuggly scarves to classic trenches, these girls have already got their winter must-haves sorted!

“My winter must-haves are definitely a chunky knit scarf, a longline cardigan or coat and a sturdy ankle boot. I tend to go for more oversized silhouettes and light neutral colours – I try to avoid dark tones as they remind me of the dull gloomy weather.

“Layering makes all the difference, especially on frosty mornings. I love feeling wrapped up, cosy and warm, and not a single part of my body feeling the chill, which is why I love this Zadig & Voltaire fringed cardi!”

Mel wears BUL Dress, ZADIG & VOLTAIRE cardi, SOPHIE HULME bucket bag (all available in selected stores) and INNOVARE boots from Winter 2014 collection.

“I am a sunshine child through and through, however I still get a tingle of excitement when winter comes knocking on my doorstep and I can start wearing layers, chunky knits and the warmest of coats!

“This winter I’m all about grey and this Bardot coat ticks all the boxes! The boxy shape and mid-length is striking, and it goes with everything from a monochrome look to a Parisian-influenced stripe! I love wearing a bright red lip with this sometimes too; it puts the cherry on top of my look!”

Suzzanne wears BARDOT Portland Coat, QUIRKY CIRCUS BY MINK PINK Run Along Stripe Dress (available mid-June) and TONY BIANCO Eclipse Boots & SOPHIE HULME bag (both available at selected stores)

“It goes without saying that a few good coats are a must for winter and I always tend to go for more classic, investment style pieces. This Kate Sylvester coat is my new fave because it literally goes with everything! It’s so warm and I love its timeless style. I know I’ll be wearing this for many winters to come.

“The other thing I do when it starts to get cold is stock up on new knits; usually a few high neck or rollneck styles and then also a few oversized styles. I always look for wool blends and I can’t resist a good cashmere jumper too. I wear back with jeans and leather pants every day because they’re just really easy, comfy and warm which is pretty much all I want in my winter outfits.”

Teneille wears KATE SYLVESTER Francis Trench Coat, MORRISON Knit, BLK DNM Leather pants (available at selected stores) & URBAN SOUL Gigi pumps.

“Something I won’t leave the house without in winter is definitely my leather jacket. Nothing beats a leather jacket that’s perfectly moulded to your body, and, like many good things, it’s gets better with age! It’s by far the best wardrobe investment I’ve ever made.

“I do a lot of running around at work so I’m constantly hot when I’m inside then cold when I go outside, so I’m always layering tees with jackets and scarves in winter – I’ll basically layer anything I can easily throw on or take off!”

Kelli wears BLK DNM Leather Jacket (available at selected stores), sass & bide tee (available at selected stores), MATICEVSKI Effective Skirt & DR MARTENS ** Shoes (available at selected stores)
