Event Wrap-Up: 2015 Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day

It was all about vibrant trackside glamour on Saturday, as Sydney’s most stylish descended upon Royal Randwick for the 2015 Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day.

Myer Ambassadors Jodi Anasta and Kris Smith arrived on course early and had an important role headlining the judging panel for the Myer Fashions on the Field competition, which featured the New South Wales State Final. Jodi was the epitome of raceday perfection in a Nerida Winter boater hat and stunning black dress by exciting new international label Self-Portrait, which has just arrived at Myer. Kris Smith embraced colour as he paired his navy M.J Bale suit with a green and white striped tie and magenta pocket square.

Colour was definitely the theme of the day with racegoers ditching neutral tones in favour of vibrant pinks and reds, while many opted for pastel shades of blue and violet. Our 2015 Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador Georgia Connolly led the pastel charge in a soft apricot dress by White Suede and a gorgeous headpiece by Viktoria Novak, while yellow was also a popular choice, with both Nikki Phillips and Carissa Wolford choosing the sunny shade for their respective Yeojin Bae and Alex Perry looks.

Meanwhile, the competition was fierce at Myer Fashions on the Field, where contestants certainly made it difficult for our judges. Jodi Anasta and Kris Smith were joined on the judging panel by Australian Turf Club Ambassador Anna Bamford, Editor of Vogue Australia Edwina McCann, Myer Milliner Viktoria Novak, Myer Designer Johnny Schembri of By Johnny and Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador Georgia Connolly. After narrowing it down to the final three, Whitney Berry was chosen to be the winner and she couldn’t have been more thrilled. Her gorgeous maroon dress by Self-Portrait was paired with tan and black accessories and a stunning sculptural fascinator. Whitney will now go on to represent New South Wales in the Myer Fashions on the Field National Final on Crown Oaks Day, and compete against the state winners from Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia.

After such a fabulous day at the track, we can’t wait to do it all over again as we head west this Saturday for the Crown Perth Opening Day.
