Ladies Day in the Myer Marquee had a dramatically different format this year, as we closed the doors to host an intimate and exclusive four-course lunch to celebrate the leadership and achievements of women.
Australia’s most successful, influential and dynamic women and a new generation of leaders making their mark in their chosen fields joined us for the inaugural Myer Ladies Day Lunch. The Myer Marquee was transformed into a beautiful dining room space to host 70 women who are business owners, artists, CEO’s, designers, newsmakers, influencers, philanthropists and storytellers.
Guests were officially welcomed by Myer Board Member, Chris Froggatt and Myer CEO and White Ribbon Ambassador, Richard Umbers, and enjoyed an inspirational presentation from Gai Waterhouse and an enchanting musical performance by renowned vocalist Katie Noonan.
Guest in attendance included Face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins and Myer Ambassadors Jodi Anasta, Rachael Finch and Lauren Phillips, as well as Tessa James, Zoe Ventoura, Rebecca Judd, Daisy Pearce, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Michelle Bridges and Chyka Keebaugh.
We were also lucky enough to host several influential women in Business and the Arts, including Janine Allis – Boost Juice and Retail Zoo Founder; Bianca Monley – Eat, Fit, Food CEO; Julie Stevanja – Stylerunner CEO; Carolyn Creswell – Carmen’s Fine Food Founder; Jennifer Stenglein – photographer; Amber Scott – Australian Ballet Principal Ballerina, Jessie Olfield – filmmaker and Libby Davies – White Ribbon CEO. Myer Designers and Milliners include Edwina Robison from AJE, Jacqui Demkiw from White Suede, Michelle Aznavorian from Misha Collection, Georgia Currie from Georgia Alice, Viktoria Novak, Nerida Winter and Lisa Tan.
Over in The Park, at the Myer Fashions on the Field Enclosure, the competition wrapped up for another year, with the announcement of the Millinery Award and the 2016 Women’s Racewear National Final. The coveted millinery award was given to Ian Bennett, whose intricate creation utilised hundreds of hand-dyed feathers and took over 11 days to make. The winner of the National Final was Courtney Moore, who was the State Finalist in South Australia. Courtney has won some incredible prizes, including a brand new Lexus!
